Are You Eating Vaccinated Cow Meat?

 The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries yesterday launched the national project for the vaccination of Livestock. The ceremony was held under the auspices of Sayyid Khalifa bin Al Mirdas al Busaidy, Musandam Governor in the presence of Dr Ishaq bin Ahmed al Ruqaishi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries. The selection of Musandam for the launch of this project is due to its economic importance and good breeds of animals. The governor said the project is vital for the future of livestock in the Sultanate as it will ensure that the animals are immune from contagious diseases. This in turn protects man and the environment’s health. Yaqoub bin Mansoor al Ruqaishi, Director-General of Livestock at the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, said in a statement that the national vaccination project is very important for food security, preserving livestock and increasing their production. He added that the livestock, estimated at 2.5 million heads, is an important source of food security for the Sultanate. The celebration included an exhibition for the vaccination tools and equipment, in addition to special corner for the products of the rural woman.
